Free tools for chicken keepers
Three calculators that run entirely in your browser. No sign-up, nothing saved, nothing sent anywhere. Built by the person behind EggBasket, because these are the three questions every keeper ends up doing longhand.
More tools are on the way — a moult tracker and a feed-conversion chart are next.
Why these three
Backyard keeping generates exactly three recurring arithmetic problems, and every forum thread eventually circles back to one of them: what does this actually cost me, how many birds do I need, and why haven't they started yet. Each tool below answers one, shows the working, and doesn't ask for your email to do it.
They are also honest about their limits. Breed lay rates are published averages for healthy hens in their first laying year; feed intake varies with breed size, weather and how much your birds free-range. Treat every output as a planning estimate, not a promise.
These tools are snapshots. The app is the record.
A calculator answers the question once. EggBasket keeps answering it — daily counts, real feed purchases, per-hen history, on your phone with no account. See how EggBasket works.
