EggBasket is made by one person. Email goes to a human — me — and I answer it. shakti.thakran@outlook.com
Where your data lives
Your flock records are stored on your iPhone. If you turn on iCloud sync, they travel through your own private iCloud account, the same way your Notes do. There is no EggBasket account, no EggBasket server, and no copy of your data anywhere I can see.
That has one consequence worth knowing up front: if you delete the app without exporting, and iCloud sync is off, the data is gone and I cannot recover it. Nobody can. Export a CSV before you do anything drastic.
Backups and export
- CSV export is free, unlimited, and available in the free version. It opens in Numbers, Excel or Google Sheets.
- iPhone backups (iCloud Backup or an encrypted Finder backup) include EggBasket's data, so restoring a phone restores your flock.
- New phone: restore from backup, or turn on iCloud sync on both devices and let them meet.
Purchases
EggBasket is free for one flock of up to six hens with every feature enabled. The one-time unlock removes the flock and hen limits and adds long-run insights and photo notes. It is a single purchase, not a subscription.
- Restore a purchase — Settings inside the app, "Restore purchases". It is tied to your Apple Account, so a new phone signed into the same account gets it back.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, not by me: reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Family Sharing — the unlock is shareable if you have Family Sharing set up for purchases.
Common questions
Where do I download EggBasket?
It is not published yet. EggBasket is finished and in launch preparation for the iPhone App Store. Leave your email on the home page and you will get one message the day it goes live — no newsletter, no follow-ups.
Is there an Android version?
Not at the moment. EggBasket is an iPhone app. If enough people ask, Android becomes worth building — email me and I will count it.
How do I delete everything?
Delete the app from your iPhone. If iCloud sync was on, also remove the app's data from iCloud in iOS Settings under your name, then iCloud. Since there is no EggBasket account or server, there is nothing else to erase and no request to send me.
Something broken, or an idea?
Email shakti.thakran@outlook.com. Tell me your iPhone model and iOS version if it is a bug — it saves a round trip. Feature requests from actual keepers are how the roadmap gets decided.
